Update: ICC Meets Today to Decide Bangladesh’s World Cup 2026 Venues
Pakistan Supports Bangladesh in the Context of T20 World Cup Venue Concerns.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has written a letter to the ICC in which it has expressed its support for the Bangladesh Cricket Board and has also demanded that a final decision be made regarding Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup.
This dispute emerged after Mustafizur Rahman, who was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the IPL, was released from the franchise. Following this development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board refused to play World Cup matches in India, citing security concerns.
In response, the ICC declined to change the venues. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has remained firm in its stance and has clearly stated that it will not play in India. Bangladesh has demanded that its World Cup matches be shifted to Sri Lanka or another neutral venue under an agreed high level security model.
The final decision is expected to be announced today.
